Key takeaways

  • Use a diagnostic instead of guessing
  • Short daily sessions beat sporadic cramming
  • Extend the plan when weak high-weight topics remain unstable

Choose a starting range

If you recently completed school and have balanced baseline results, two to three weeks may be enough. If you have been away for years, study in a second language, or have several weak foundations, plan four to eight weeks. These are planning ranges, not guarantees.

Calculate weekly study capacity

Count realistic minutes, not ideal ones. Five 30-minute sessions plus one 60-minute simulation gives you 3.5 focused hours a week. Build a plan that survives work, family, and school rather than one that requires perfect days.

  • Minimum session: 15–20 minutes
  • Focused learning: 30–45 minutes
  • Timed simulation: use the current official exam length

Use readiness gates instead of a countdown

Before testing, you should have reviewed the complete official outline, corrected repeated mistakes, and produced stable results on fresh mixed sets. If one high-weight category remains far below the others, add targeted days rather than hoping a strong category will hide it.
